The GE IC697RCM711 is a Redundancy Communications Module (RCM) designed for the GE Fanuc 90-70 series programmable logic controllers (PLCs). It is a single slot module that provides a path for a synchronizing message from the active to the backup unit in a redundant CPU system. The RCM also provides a means for the backup CPU to monitor the status of the active CPU and to take over control of the system if the active CPU fails.
